TYP Financial Needs-Based Grants and Bursaries
TYP Grants
As a Transitional Year Student, you maybe eligible for financial aid such as OSAP and TYP grants.
We encourage you to reach out and speak to our registrar/program assistant if you have any questions about your personal finances or any of the above-mentioned funding sources.
- Complete your grant application form online: Grant Application Platform
- Follow the instructions and submit you application online. Make sure to include your budget summary and personal statement*.
- Complete and set up Direct Deposit to receive any approved grant funding.
*To have your application eligible for processing, please ensure the Budget Outline and Personal Statement sections are complete.
- Initial Review: After the applicant submits their application, Initial Review will be conducted by TYP to ensure all required information is complete. The review will take 3-4 business days.
- Decision Released: The applicant will be notified of a decision from TYP regarding specific amounts granted 2-3 weeks after application.
- Grant Deposited: TYP Grants will be deposited into the applicant's Direct Deposit (ROSI Account) within 1-2 weeks after Decision Release.
- Check for Eligibility for OSAP.
- OSAP is open to all Ontario Residents of any age who are:
→ Canadian Citizens
→ Permanent Residents, or
- Complete OSAP Application.
Please note: You should apply for OSAP before you know whether you have been accepted into TYP. You will know whether you are OSAP eligible and the approximate funding you may receive. However, you will not officially receive any OSAP funding of course unless you are accepted and officially registered in the program for September.
