Fees and Financial Aid
As a Transitional Year Student, you are eligible for financial aid such as OSAP and TYP grants. We encourage you to reach out and speak to our registrar if you have any questions about your personal finances or any of the above-mentioned funding sources. All the information on these three options is outlined below:
Fees
The approximate tuition cost of the Transitional Year Programme for the 2022-2023 year is:
- $6,700 for the full-time program (two terms)
Please note: there is no application fee to apply for our program.
TYP Grants
We encourage every Transitional Year Programme student to apply to our TYP grants. This is a need-based grant that can help cover some of your educational and basic needs. They are offered twice a year, around October and February.
Please download the TYP grant form and submit it to typ.info@utoronto.ca
TYP grants take between 1.5 to 2 weeks to review and administer funding.
OSAP
As a Transitional Year Student, you may be eligible for the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP). Applications for OSAP can be made online at www.osap.gov.on.ca. Applying for financial assistance can be a lengthy process so it is important that you start the process early.
Please note: You should apply for OSAP before you know whether you have been accepted into TYP. You will know whether you are OSAP eligible and the approximate funding you may receive. However, you will not officially receive any OSAP funding of course unless you are accepted and officially registered in the program for September.
